5 Furstenberg 1910 “Rose Bud” Porcelain Tea Cups with Drinking Saucers
This lovely set of 5 Tea cups with 5 drinking saucers are in perfect condition. They are one of the most beautiful pieces of porcelain made by Furstenberg possibly the oldest royal porcelain maker in Germany. These are not demitasse cups they are European teacups! Wide at the top and bottom with a deep saucer to drink your tea from it (if you choose to.) The cups pattern exquisitely depicts a rose on one side and a delicate rose bud on the other side. The same rose and bud pattern is depicted on the saucers. Both cups and saucers have gold rims. The saucers have no center rim to hold the cup in place, as it was the fashion at the time this china was made to pour your tea on the sauce and drink from it. It was also fashionable at the time to hold the cup with one finger through the beautiful handle.I have always used a cup & a saucer for my tea, but I have often served café con leche on these cups to friends.
