This pitcher was made in the faience factory in Saint Clement, France which opened in 1786 by Jacques Chambrette. Monsieur Chambrette became a favored supplier for Marie Antoinette. This particular pitcher was produced between 1920 & 1950. The Gallic rooster, in French: le coq gaulois, is an unofficial national symbol of France.This earthenware Barbotine rooster is brightly glazed in green, orange and red.The bottom is stamped St. Clement FranceI have three in inventory, the price is for one.
